Module 7 is exclusively open to alumni of the TRIUM Global MBA program. Alumni are welcome to bring a partner to the event. There is a separate registration option for partners, which includes access to selected social activities. Please register for classroom attendance.

The alumni ticket price includes access to all conference sessions on the 7th and 8th of June, coffee breaks, lunches, the welcome reception on the 6th, the old city tour on the 7th, and dinner on the 7th and 8th. For alumni partners, the ticket includes the old city tour and both dinners.

Check visa requirements for Azerbaijan well in advance. Many nationalities can apply for an e-visa through the official ASAN Visa website, which is straightforward and quick.

The local currency is the Azerbaijani Manat (AZN). While major credit cards are accepted in many places, it’s useful to carry some cash, especially for smaller shops and taxis. Currency exchange services are available at the airport, but you might find better rates in the city.

Visa and Mastercard are commonly accepted in Baku. Please note that American Express and Diners Club Cards may not be widely accepted.

Heydar Aliyev International Airport is well connected to the city center. Options include taxis, airport shuttles, and ride-sharing apps. Agree on a taxi fare before departing or use an official taxi service to avoid overcharging.

While taxis are readily available across Baku, ride-sharing services such as Bolt offer a convenient and often more economical alternative. Uber is not operational in Baku. For traditional taxis, it’s advisable to agree on a fare in advance to avoid misunderstandings.

Azerbaijani is the official language, but Russian is also widely spoken. English is increasingly common, especially in tourist areas and among younger people.

Azerbaijan is a secular Muslim country. While Baku is quite modern and cosmopolitan, it’s respectful to dress modestly, especially when visiting religious sites.

Tipping is appreciated but not mandatory in Azerbaijan. Here are some general guidelines:

• Restaurants: It’s customary to leave a tip of around 10% of the bill if service charge is not included. For excellent service, you might consider tipping a bit more.
• Taxis: Rounding up the fare or tipping 5-10% is appreciated, but not expected. Many locals simply round up to the nearest convenient amount.
• Hotels: For bellboys or housekeeping, 1-2 AZN (Azerbaijani Manat) per bag or per day of service is a kind gesture.
• Spas and Salons: A tip of 10% is standard for good service.

It’s always best to use your discretion based on the service quality. Tipping in cash is preferred, as it directly benefits the service provider.

Azerbaijan uses plug types C and F. Type C is the standard “Euro” plug with two round pins, and Type F is similar but with two earth clips attached. The standard voltage in Azerbaijan is 220 V.
