Washington
DC TRIUM alumni, including Erik Ramirez (T2006), Mark
Spradley (T2006) and Paul Ward (T2006), organized
a special reception and lecture at the residence adjacent
to the Embassy of Japan on June 16, 2006 for local
DC area TRIUM alumni as well as HEC, NYU-Stern and
LSE graduates. With nearly 40 people in attendance,
Mitsuro Kitano of the Embassy of Japan gave a presentation
on Japanese nationalism, whether it is on the rise
and the extent to which is poses a regional issue
in Asia.
The
Embassy kindly donated wine and beverages while a
sponsor, Rock Creek Strategic Marketing, offered an
elaborate sushi meal after the event. With the beautiful
summer weather, elegant grounds and well- appointed
residence, the event was well-received and may prove
to be a model for future similar events.
Other
attendees represented organizations such as The World
Bank, The International Trade Administration (Department
of Commerce), The Millennium Challenge Corporation,
US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Inter-American
Foundation, and the Democratic National Committee.
TRIUM students and alumni in attendance also included
Ed Leonard (T2003), Ulrich Dischler (T2007?), and
Greg Schlimm (T2006).
